| Auchneil House is set on a family farm located
between Dumfries and Dalbeattie, near to the village of Kirkgunzeon in
the heart of the picturesque Dumfries & Galloway countryside. The farm, which rears cattle and sheep, is farmed with the interest of the countryside and encourages the native wildlife, birds and plants of the area. |

For the horse riding enthusiasts, visit Barend Riding
Centre, on the Solway Firth at Sandyhills. Cowan's Loch for coarse fishing is just across the field. Many Restaurants offering fine food can be found in Dumfries, Dalbeattie and Castle Douglas. |

From the M6 continue forward onto the A74(M)
(signposted Scotland, Dumfries, Stranraer). Leave the motorway and merge
onto the A75 (signposted South West Scotland, Dumfries, Stranraer) after
approx. 28 miles, at roundabout, take 1st exit onto the A780 (signposted
Dumfries) follow on the A780 (signposted Solway Coast, Dalbeattie)
continue forward onto the A781. At traffic lights turn right (signposted
All other routes) rejoin the A780 and at traffic signals continue
forward (signposted Stranraer) at next junction fork left onto the A711
(signposted Dalbeattie). At mini-roundabout continue forward onto the A711 (signposted Dalbeattie). At Cargenbridge roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A711 (signposted Dalbeattie). Follow the A711 past Toll Bar and turn right just prior to the telephone kiosk. Follow road and bare right following signs for Cowan's Guest House and Farm, as you approach, follow signs into farmyard. |
